If You Go to Be a Soldier
Disclaimer: The original song belongs to Robert Jordan, creator of the Wheel of Time. I've merely tacked on verses of my own making.
You'll wake ere the cocks crow to the sky,
Then march 'till night's a passing sigh.
And after clashes with the foe,
You'll have aching bones from head to toe,
If you go to be a soldier.
If you go to be a soldier.
You'll sleep on rocks, and knotty roots,
With holes from mice in cold damp boots.
And death you'll sow, and death you'll reap,
With scars the only thing you'll keep.
If you go to be a soldier.
If you go to be a soldier.
You'll find your swords your oldest friend,
And nothing ever goes as planned.
You think of glory as a fool's estate,
That reinforcements will always be late.
If you go to be a soldier.
If you go to be a soldier.
Your hearth of home's a fond desire,
The closest you'll get is a warming fire.
And that you'll find is not that bright,
For fear of what comes in the night.
If you go to be a soldier.
If you go to be a soldier.

Golden Blood -- Ch. 16
Chapter Sixteen - Syra
As we flew on, the distant shapes of mountains began to grow nearer and nearer. Falor assured us that their apparent size was deceiving and that we still had a ways to go. We'd been travelling for a few days now and Turk and I had tried to keep up, though sooner or later it became impossible. I got the feeling that Falor had intended to go faster, and would have if we hadn't been slowing him down. Then again, if we hadn't been there, he wouldn't have been going to Great Mountain at all.
At least the land here was nicer. It was still scattered with boulders and occasional flats of rock, but for the most part there were

Chapter Sixty-Six - Syra
My sleep was filled with indistinct nightmares, and I awoke several times during the night. By the time morning came I felt no better than I had the night before; a bundle of nerves and aimless energy.
I immediately sought out Falor and found him standing with Koraga and some other important dragons in the army. I stood beside him until he turned around.
He opened his mouth, then closed it, as if reconsidering what he had to say. I took the opportunity and jumped in with the rationale I had raked together: "Falor, listen. I know you don't want me to come with you on the diplomatic force, but I simply must. Even if

Chapter Sixty-Five - Syra
When we finally arrived at the meeting place, the second half of the army was already there. As our mass of dragons merged with the other large group, I felt a little bit of hope begin to stir. With an army this size, we might have a chance, especially if we caught Avelus off-guard.
As soon as my feet hit the ground, I immediately began to search for Turk. It didn't take me long to find him; standing around with Falor, Evoa, and the humans as they watched the army grow.
I ran towards him, unable to hide an enormous grin. "Turk!"
"Syra
" he muttered, but was unable to hide the smile that lit up his face for a

Hello Cabadrin, I've been in the process on making music for TWoT songs. Some of them have a verse or two, some have none... This was one of the next songs I was going to write music for and I was wondering if you'd mind if I used your additional lyric's to make the song longer, maybe tweaking some words here and there for flow. Here's my version of Jac O' The Shadows. [link]
