If You Go to Be a Soldier

Disclaimer:  The original song belongs to Robert Jordan, creator of the Wheel of Time. I've merely tacked on verses of my own making.

You'll wake ere the cocks crow to the sky,
Then march 'till night's a passing sigh.
And after clashes with the foe,
You'll have aching bones from head to toe,
If you go to be a soldier.
If you go to be a soldier.

You'll sleep on rocks, and knotty roots,
With holes from mice in cold damp boots.
And death you'll sow, and death you'll reap,
With scars the only thing you'll keep.
If you go to be a soldier.
If you go to be a soldier.

You'll find your swords your oldest friend,
And nothing ever goes as planned.
You think of glory as a fool's estate,
That reinforcements will always be late.
If you go to be a soldier.
If you go to be a soldier.

Your hearth of home's a fond desire,
The closest you'll get is a warming fire.
And that you'll find is not that bright,
For fear of what comes in the night.
If you go to be a soldier.
If you go to be a soldier.
Continuation of RJ's song of the same name.

Hello Cabadrin, I've been in the process on making music for TWoT songs. Some of them have a verse or two, some have none... This was one of the next songs I was going to write music for and I was wondering if you'd mind if I used your additional lyric's to make the song longer, maybe tweaking some words here and there for flow. Here's my version of Jac O' The Shadows. [link]
